Vietnam – Brazil relations continue to develop positively and become increasingly effective

During his official visit to Brazil from 23-26 September, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (Vietnam) and President Lula da Silva (Brazil) are scheduled to have talks, hold a joint press conference, and witness the signing and handover of cooperation documents between the two countries.

Brazil is Vietnam’s largest economic and trade partner in Latin America with trade turnover in 2022 reaching 6.78 billion USD, an increase of 6.6% compared to 2021. The two countries are looking forward to celebrating 35 years anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Brazil and Vietnam by 2024.
The Prime Minister of Vietnam proposed to promote the process of negotiating and signing trade agreements:
– Between Vietnam and Brazil
– Between Vietnam and the Southern American Common Market (MERCOSUR)
– Between Brazil and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
– Between MERCOSUR and ASEAN
– Investment Protection Agreement
– Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement…
– Free trade agreement (FTA) with a group of countries in Latin America

The Prime Minister of Vietnam visited Embraer Aerospace Company, the world’s third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer, after Boeing and Airbus. In Vietnam, this airline handed over 5 E190 aircraft to Bamboo Airways.
Highlighting the fast development and potential of Vietnam’s aviation sector, Prime Minister held that the new-generation aircraft models of Embraer could be a solution helping Vietnamese airlines concurrently expand their fleets and ensure flight efficiency and safety. He believes in a bright future of aviation cooperation between the two countries, asking Embraer to expand collaboration and investment to develop its business ecosystem in Vietnam.
Representatives of Embraer also expressed their desire to continue to seek opportunities for cooperation and market expansion in Vietnam. Adding that the group is ready to implement aircraft maintenance and repair services in and provide aerospace technological solutions for Vietnam

The visit is expected to establish new directions to promote the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Brazil and identify specific projects and areas of cooperation, thereby developing bilateral relations, especially is about economics, trade and investment in a real and effective way.
